When I first started exploring AI, I never imagined it would lead to such a meaningful project 😭. The possibilities of AI can sometimes feel abstract or even distant, but occasionally a project comes along that demonstrates just how powerful and deeply human this technology can be.
A couple of weeks ago, a friend reached out with a request that gave me instant goosebumps. She asked if I could recreate the voice of her late cousin so it could be used in a wedding speech for his sister’s big day 💜. The idea of bringing his voice back for such an important occasion was both moving and daunting. From that moment, I knew we were about to embark on something truly special.

We got to work immediately, starting with videos of him found on social media. Capturing his unique way of speaking—the cadence, inflection, and even goofiness that made him who he was—was our main focus. We wanted it to feel authentic, as if he were there himself, speaking from the heart.
This is where AI truly shines. The process involved countless hours of listening, fine-tuning, and leveraging advanced voice synthesis tools, particularly ElevenLabs. Since I never met him, my friend’s approval in each sentence was essential before moving on to the next part of the speech. Without this technology, a project like this would simply be impossible. The precision and personalization that AI provides allowed us to recreate not just the sound, but the essence of his voice. Every little nuance, from the way he emphasized certain words to his distinctive tone, was brought to life.
Beyond the voice, I also tweaked one of his photos to show him in a suit—after all, it’s a wedding, and we wanted him looking his best for the occasion ⛪️. The combination of voice and image created something truly unforgettable.
Why This Project Meant So Much
